Guild launch 50th booklet
The Guild of Agricultural Journalists launched a 50th anniversary booklet recently in Dublin’s Palace Bar. 
Speaking at the launch Larry Sheedy, a founder member of the guild spoke about the history of the Guild, how it evolved and the role it plays today. The event was attended by over 40 members who spend the evening discussing the Guild and how it impacted on their careers. Other speakers at the event were Guild Chairman, Damien O’Reilly and Michael Miley and David Markey who edited and produced the publication. The booklet has numerous funny stories and feature and history articles covering the 50 years of the Guild. Among the contributors were Matt Dempsey, Michael Miley, Pat O’Keeffe, Margaret Donnelly, Frank Mulrennan, David Markey, Damien O’Reilly, Stephen Cadogan, Mairead McGuinness, Richard Wright, James Campbell and founding fathers Larry Sheedy and Paddy O’Keeffe who helped found the Guild with Michael Dillon and Con Murphy in 1961.
