Oonagh O’Mahony to represent Ireland at the IFAJ-Alltech Young Leaders in Agricultural Journalism Bootcamp

Congratulations to Oonagh O’Mahony from IFP Media who was selected to represent Ireland at the IFAJ-Alltech Young Leaders in Agricultural Journalism Bootcamp.

Journalists from across the world enter the prestigious awards and 10 are selected to attend the bootcamp which coincides with the IFAJ congress in the Netherlands. Oonagh has been a valued member of the Guild of Agricultural Journalists for many years and of course, was our previous chair and we know she will be a fantastic Irish representative.
The IFAJ Awards will also take place during the congress. Following the Irish judging, we are delighted to announce that in the print category, Thomas Hubert and Pat O’Toole from the Irish Farmers Journal will represent Ireland with their piece on the campaign by the Revenue Commissioners to generate additional tax streams from Kerry Co-op shareholders.

In the digital category, Thomas also received first place in the Irish judging for his piece on building a dairy industry from the ground up in Kenya.

We wish them both the best of luck and hope there will be Irish win in Netherlands.

The IFAJ Congress will take place in the Netherlands from 11-15 July. Registration is now open and all interested members should check out the details on www.ifaj.org/events/annual-congress/
