Tom is Northern Correspondent with the Irish Farmers Journal.

He studied agriculture at Queens University and holds a PhD in agricultural economics.

Tom began his career with Richardson’s Fertilisers before moving to the Milk Marketing Board for NI and subsequently United Dairy Farmers. At these organisations he was responsible for the farm services divisions, working closely with farmers across Northern Ireland.

Tom has previously served as chair of the NI Institute of Agricultural Science. Outside of his professional interests, Tom farms on a drumlin near Saintfield in Co. Down, rearing a few young cattle.
